Last week were estatic to discover that we still have two-holidays in August. August 21 - Nonoy Aquino's day and August 31 - National Heroes Day.
Ninoy Aquino Day is celebrated in commemoration of the heroes Death Day. Twenty-five years ago, he was assasinated at the Ninoy Aquino Airport leaving a mark to the country's history.
Yesterday, a memo was posted in our office's bulletin board. Ninoy Aquino Day is a Special No-Working Holiday. What startled us is its a No Work, No Pay Day.I just can't seem to get it, it's a holiday so you are not suppose to go to work, but if you won't go to work, you won't get paid.August 21 is a red higlighted day in the calendar. Just like Christmas and other regular holidays.Holidays are no work with pay days. How come Ninoy Aquino's Day is a No Work no pay day?
If our country cannot fix simple glitches like this, how can they handle bigger issues in our country?
